From HYCU version 2.0 DNS setup is not required
During HYCU network configuration following error is displayed
hostname ( does not match IP address )
HYCU was designed to work with static IP address assignment, and setup requires static values for Hostname, IP address, subnet mask, gateway, DNS and Domain.
HYCU version 1.5 has also implemented checking of forward and reverse DNS zones, and will not allow setting up HYCU VM using hostname/ip that cannot be resolved. Make sure HYCU's hostname & IP pair is properly added in your DNS.
For HYCU POC deployments you might need to deploy HYCU without DNS resolution. Following deployment procedure will not check hostname resolution:
During HYCU virtual machine creation, fill all required fields as usual, and just make sure you check the box "Custom Script" at the bottom of Create VM screen, select " Type or paste script ", and paste the following:
- /opt/grizzly/bin/cloud_init_setup.sh hostname ip/subnet_prefix gateway dns search_domain
Change the values of Hostname, IP/Subnet prefix, Gateway, DNS and Search domain to match your environment, and click save.
In this instance, subnet prefix is the netmask associated with the chosen IP address in the bitmask format. For instance 255.0.0.0 equals netmask 8, 255.255.0.0 equals netmask 16, and so on.
Watch out on the space between each parameter.
VM will be created with those values already populated, and as soon as it's created, you can power it on, and once deployment completes access it through it's web interface.
